The US Department of Education has agreed to replace the NJSLA with a less intrusive and more helpful assessment.  The state of New Jersey will administer an alternate assessment in reading/language arts, mathematics, and science to meet the federal requirements under ESSA (Every Student Succeeds Act).  Click on the link below to review the article.
